It’s been a long time since I last shared here.
The last time Dolce Terra was truly active on this blog was in 2021. So much has happened since then. For the longest time, I haven't been sure of how I wanted to go forward with Dolce.
Dolce Terra, meaning sweet earth, began more than a decade ago as a small cottage bakery here in the Austin area. I was baking gluten-free cakes and desserts with a focus on local and organic ingredients, using eco-conscious packaging, and slowly building something that felt like an expression of me.
What started with baking grew to include an online shop with handmade goods, and Dolce joined farmers' markets and pop-ups around the Austin community. Those years spent baking, Dolce-ing before sunrise, and showing up at markets were so meaningful to me, and still are.
Dolce also donated 10% of shop purchases to Austin Pets Alive, which I loved doing, our way of giving back. Supporting local organizations and being a part of the Austin maker and food community was woven into everything Dolce did.
That chapter of Dolce Terra has officially closed.
The microbakery, the markets, the shop. Those all belonged to a season of my life that I will forever treasure.
But the heart of Dolce never left.
For a long time, Dolce was one of the main ways I expressed what I loved: thoughtful food, creativity, baking, supporting local businesses and makers, and creating things that felt intentional and meaningful. Even after stepping away from the bakery and shop, those things haven't disappeared; they've just shifted.

So Dolce is returning, in a different way. A new version of the original, and it feels right, liberating.
Now, Dolce is a place where I'll share the things that still feel like Dolce to me. Thoughtful food, baking, inspiration, local places and businesses around Austin that I love, and bits of life along the way. And of course, moments with our babies, who are sure to appear in pictures and social posts.
Sometimes this will be a recipe. Sometimes it might be something I’m baking or interested in. Sometimes it might just be something that made me happy and I wanted to share.

And there will still be luxe buttercream cakes, sometimes.
If you’ve been here since the beginning of Dolce, thank you for staying connected through all the different versions. And if you’ve found Dolce for the first time now, welcome.
If you love thoughtful food, intentional baking, discovering local places, or the little things that make life feel full and meaningful, you’ll probably feel at home here.
Thanks for being here.
